Commissioners praise Thomas Mahoney for his 22 years on the board.

Commissioners, Rep. William Adolph, Jr., Delaware County Coucilman Tom McGarrigle, Springfield Republican Party Leader Michael Puppio, administration and friends heaped praise on Thomas V. Mahoney for his 22 years on the Springfield Township Board of Commissioners. He was board president for 11 of those 22 years.

Mahoney blushed, smiled and told everyone to "keep it honest." He said he did not seek reelection because he wants to spend more time with his grandsons, Thomas and Nicholas.

Michael Culp will replace him as First Ward commissioner. The board will appoint a new president during its reorganization meeting.
