Get Out: Delco Fair, Electronic Waste and Johnny Appleseed Festival

What's going on in Springfield this weekend?

 

Are you looking for something to do this weekend? Check out these great local events.

Delco Fair

  • When: September 12 - 16.  Wednesday through Friday: 6pm-10pm.  Saturday: 4pm-10pm.  Sunday - 12pm-6pm. 
  • Where: Granite Run Mall
  • Why Go: Come out to the annual fall fair at the Granite Run Mall.  Enjoy the rides, carnival food and treats with the family.
  • Cost: Cost of tickets for rides and games.

Free Electronic Waste Event

  • When: September 15 from 9am - 1pm.
  • Where: Springfield Mall parking lot
  • Why Go: Anything goes at this "all type" electronic waste event.  Bring your old computers, monitors, printers, air-conditioners, computer accessories and household appliances. Small businesses with less than 50 employees are also welcome to bring their obsolete electronic equipment.
  • Cost: FREE

Johnny Appleseed Arts & Music Festival

  • When: September 15 and 16.  9am-5pm
  • Where: Linvilla Orchards in Media, PA
  • Why Go: The Johnny Appleseed Arts & Music Festival showcases local artists and crafts persons, as well as offering music and unique exhibitors to check out.  While you are at Linvilla, check out Pumpkinland, take a hayride, ride a pony, pick apples, get your face painted, and check out the straw maze. 
  • Cost: FREE

Lend Me A Tenor at MN Players

  • When: Saturday September 7 at 8 p.m.
  • WhereMN Players at 129 Park Ave, Swarthmore, PA 19081
  • Why Go: Enjoy an evening of music and laughs at the opening night of Lend Me A Tenor at MN Players, soon to be Spotlight Theatre.  Ken Ludwig's Lend Me A Tenor is presented as part of MN Players' Spotlight subscription series directed by Timothy P. Oskin.
  • Cost: $15

Outdoor Craft Store

  • When: Saturday September 15 from 9:30am - 4pm. 
  • Where: Downtown Swarthmore - Park Ave & Dartmouth Ave
  • Why Go: This is an outdoor retail art and craft show.  Dozens of artists and crafters will be selling their beautiful homemade and unique goods.
  • Cost: FREE
