Hundreds Flock to Chuck E. Cheese's Job Blitz

Is it the pizza, or a sign of the times?

More tha  300 people lined up Wednesday afternoon for a chance to serve up pizza and family fun to kids and their parents in Springfield.

Company managers workng out of a trailer across the street from the Chuck E. Cheese's construction site on Baltimore Pike say they had has many as 400 applications in a few hours Wednesday.

On-site managers told Patch the target date to open the new Chuck E. Cheese's is November 5th.

The hiring blitz was advertised for Wednesday but managers tell Patch the application deadline is still open and anyone interested in jobs at the restaurant should still come by the trailer in the parking lot across the street from the contruction site to apply.

While the total number of employees needed is not specific, one manager told Patch that Chuck E. Cheeses of similar size employ 35-100 (mosly part time) people, depending on work schedules and employee availability.
