Man Robs Citizens Bank on Woodland

A man steals an undisclosed amount of money from the Citizens Bank on Woodland Avenue.

A man stole an undisclosed amount of money from the Citizens Bank branch located on the unit block Woodland Avenue, according to Springfield Township Police.

According to the Delco Times, a black man standing five-feet, 10-inches tall walked into the bank, demanded cash and fled on foot.

Patrolman David DiTrolio, with other officers, responded and the investigation showed that the man entered the bank, handed the teller a note demanding the cash from the drawer and implied that he had a weapon, police said.

The teller handed the man the cash and he fled on foot running towards the residential neighborhood in the rear of the bank towards Powell Road, police said. The area was checked but the man was gone.

The man is described to be in his 20's, had a beard and was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, a black knit cap with a diamond shaped insignia on it, and blue jeans, police said.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Det. Bridget McCarthy at 610-544-5505 or 610-544-1100, ext. 315.
