When Peter was asked what he wants to be when he grows up, he said without hesitation, “A librarian – because I like to read books and help people.”

Peter’s favorite genre is fiction and his favorite author is Barbara Parke of the Junie B. Jones series. Peter has definite plans to attend college to achieve his career goal, but he is not sure where he will attend yet except that it will be an in-state college or university. Peter is looking forward to going to next year for sixth grade, but he said, “I will miss Sabold too.” When Peter is not in school he likes to spend time with his family, friends and to draw. He especially likes to draw portraits of his immediate family.

The staff at the Sabold were quick to commend Peter.

“Peter enjoys leading the class by example and helping with technology," said Gina Romanelli, his language arts and math teacher. "Along with his sense of humor, Peter delights the class with his experiences and connections during class discussions.”

Elise Baiocchi, Peter’s science teacher, added, “Peter is caring and sympathetic to others. He has a playful and an imaginative personality; it is wonderful to have him in class.”

Cynthia Mattei, the Sabold principal concluded by saying, “Peter is very kind and empathetic and he has a wonderful sense of humor. He has a unique perspective that allows him to see situations through the eyes of others. We have enjoyed watching Peter grow into the wonderful person and student he is today.”

For these reasons and more, Peter Murr is honored as the May Student of the Month.
