Pocketbook Picked Clean of Cash at Goodwill

Springfield Police are investigating a crime that happened in a matter of minutes.

 

The following information was supplied by the Springfield Police Department. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven otherwise. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Theft—Goodwill Store in the 700 block of S. Chester Road between 3:25 and 4:06 p.m. on Jan. 9. A Brookhaven resident reported that she had been shopping at the store and a short time after she left, realized that she had left her pocketbook in the store. She returned and located the pocketbook but discovered that an envelope with a large amount of cash had been stolen from inside. All of the other contents were intact. The incident is under investigation by Detective Daniel McNeely.
