There Are Lions In Springfield
The Lions Club celebrates 64 years of community service in Springfield.
The motto of the Springfield Lions Club is "We Serve." The club's goal is to assist the community and the less fortunate, primarily the hearing and sight impaired.
History of the Springfield Lions Club
The Springfield Lions Club began in 1948 with 36 members and currently the club has more than 80 members, according to its website. The Springfield Lions Club is chartered by Lions Clubs International which was founded in 1917 to help the blind and deaf. With more than 1.4 million members worldwide, Lions International is the largest service club in the world, according to its website.

Collecting Glasses for Those in Need
The Springfield Lions Club has collection boxes throughout the township. All glasses donated are given to those in need. Below are the five Springfield locations where you can donate used eye glasses.

The Springfield Lions Club Adult School provides courses to adults in topics that vary throughout the year. The courses currently available are Yoga, Strong Women, and Sign Language. Instructors are selected by the Springfield School District and the classes are given at either Springfield High School, route: {:controller=>"listings", :action=>"show", :id=>"springfield-high-school"} --> or at 6:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month.
