Trash Collection Resumes Thursday

Springfield continues cleanup following Hurricane Sandy.

Wednesday marked the beginning of residents across the Delaware Valley resuming their daily lives, and, in Springfield, the township began to pickup the pieces.

Following a two-day shutdown due to Hurricane Sandy, the Springfield started its official cleanup Wednesday.

In a notice on the Springfield Township website, Oct. 31, the municipality shared its plan for clearing debris:

Township of Springfield Special Notice Hurricane  Sandy Clean-UP, the Township will begin collecting tree branches, please place them at curbside.  The street sweeper is currently cleaning all streets throughout the Township.Leaf collection will begin today on October 31st. Trash and recycling collection will resume on Thursday,  November 1st. 

Leaf collection was supposed to begin Monday, but like all trash pickup in Springfield, was delayed due to the storm. For a complete schedule, review this article.
