Where Do You Buy Maternity Clothes?

Who knew finding larger clothes would be such a challenge locally?

One of the challenges I had not expected when I got pregnant was where to buy maternity clothes.

I figured I’d have no trouble finding places that carried maternity clothes I would want to wear. I was wrong. I found my selections in this region to be very limited.

Department stores usually have a small section of maternity clothes and there is the company Destination Maternity has its chains, Motherhood Maternity and it’s higher-end line, a Pea in the Pod with stores locally in the King of Prussia Mall and the Springfield Mall.

I found Target had a nice selection of maternity clothes, both in its stores (Malvern, Plymouth Meeting, Springfield at the Mall, and Springfield at 857 Baltimore Pike) and on its website.

Beyond that, I found some things at consignment sales for kids clothes and I went online.

What’s been your best source of maternity clothes and gear in the region? Share your expertise with your neighbors in the comments section below.

I finally found the Gap Maternity section in the Exton mall about a week before my due date! It is in the back of the baby Gap store...they seemed to have a pretty nice selection and the hand-me-down maternity Gap stuff I got was really nice. Old Navy also has a hidden maternity section in the back of the baby clothes area. I really liked Butterflies and Blossoms in West Chester (consignment) - good selection, great prices - I even found a brand new pair of pants there once. I hated Motherhood Maternity - so expensive, captive audience, etc...but I love(d) their jeans and I did get a number of shirts and pants from there...Macy's carries Motherhood stuff, so depending on their sales, you can get the same stuff cheaper at Macy's. I was always disappointed in Target's maternity selection...

A great website for maternity clothing is http://www.everythingmaternal.com. They have a maternity store locator that tells you where you can buy maternity clothes in your area. When I put in 19064 I got a ton of results such as Kohl's, Target, Kid to Kid, Boscovs, Ross, JCPenney, Worn Yesterday and a bunch more.

I loved http://www.seraphinematernity.com when I was pregnant. Some of the items are a little pricey but I can still wear them now and they look great so it was definitely an investmeant.
