Get out your cameras!

Welcome Spring!

April and May are the months in Delaware County when our homes look their best- whether you have cherries, magnolias, dogwoods, azaleas or any other blossoming beauty on your property, now is a terrific time to take pictures of your home.

All too often I’ve seen drab, depressing exterior photos of homes for sale. Sometimes it can’t be helped- maybe a house went on the market in January, and the agent did their best to make a frozen day look cheerful. But if you intend to sell your home in the coming year, why not take the time now to catch your property's best looks on camera?

As a Realtor, I utilize the skills of my cameraman husband to get compelling photos of my listings. But I would gladly use my sellers' photos to advertise the property. Be assured, the exterior pictures of your home on the Multiple Listing Service, Trulia, Zillow and all the other major real estate web sites will either attract or deter potential buyers.

Think about the features of your property that made you love it in the first place. For my family, our backyard is graced by the biggest and most show-stopping magnolia tree on the street. When the time comes to put our home on the market, you can bet our pictures will include a shot of  our magnolia at its peak. I’ve included a pic (taken by me, not the family pro) for your viewing pleasure.

Ofcourse, if you’re ready to list, spring is an ideal time to put your home on the market. Why not have showings and open houses when buyers can see your botanical treasures in person?
