Chances are you need to clean out some closets to make room for new holiday gifts. 

Consider donating unwanted items to a local non-profit organization. You can also sell items on eBay with the proceeds benefiting the charity of your choice.

eBay Giving Works

Any eBay seller, with a current account, can create an eBay Giving Works listing to sell items for charity.

You can choose from over 22,000 non-profit organizations to benefit from your sales, including American Red Cross, American Cancer Society, and Habitat for Humanity. 

Goodwill

Donations of clothing and household goods can be made at Goodwill locations throughout the Delaware Valley including Berwyn, Phoenixville, and Swarthmore. 

The sales of donations help fund job training programs, employment placement services and other community-based programs for people who have disabilities or face employment challenges.

Planet Aid

Planet Aid is a nonprofit organization that collects and recycles used clothing and shoes to help improve the lives of children and adults around the world. 

Email Planet Aid to find the drop-off location nearest you or if you are interested in hosting a bin. 

Purple Heart

The Military Order of the Purple Heart's Pickup Service will come to your door to collect clothing, toys, books, and household items. Click here for a full list of accepted donations. 

Salvation Army

Salvation Army accepts tax-deductible contributions of gently used clothing, toys, and furniture. Items donated are sold in Salvation Army Thrift Stores throughout the country. Proceeds from the sale of donated items help fund Salvation Army's Adult Rehabilitation Centers which provide assistance to substance abusers and others struggling with various forms of life issues.

Society of St. Vincent de Paul

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is about neighbors helping neighbors in need of food, shelter, clothing, transportation and comfort in the Philadelphia area. Clothing donations bins are available inArdmore, Bryn Mawr, Broomall, Springfield, Malvern, and many other locations throughout the Philadelphia area. Click here to find a clothing drop-off location near you.

Your old car, appliances, or furniture can help a local family. Email T&E Care if you are interested in making a donation. 

Children's Clothing and Toys

Cradles to Crayons Philadelphia

Cradles to Crayons provides children from birth through age 12 living in homeless or low-income situations with the essential items they need.

Locations are available throughout Philadelphia, Montogomery, and Delaware Counties to drop-off donations. 

Most Needed Items:

  • Boys pants, sizes 11/12 and 14/16
  • Boys long-sleeved tops, sizes 11/12 and 14/16
  • Boys and Girls underwear, sizes 3T -14/16 (especially larger sizes)
  • Boys winter coats, size 2T
  • Winter gloves

Donation Town

Schedule a local charity to pick-up toys, clothing, shoes, household goods, furniture, and more right from your door. 

Bikes and Sports Equipment

Neighborhood Bike Works

The Mission of Neighborhood Bike Works is to increase opportunities for urban youth in underserved neighborhoods in greater Philadelphia by offering educational, recreational, and career-building opportunities through bicycling.

Play It Again Sports

Play It Again Sports buys, sells, and trades used sports and fitness equipment. If you have old sports equipment cluttering up the garage, you may want to check out their Berwyn location.
