Get Out: Loyalty Day, Live Music and an Open Garden

Get out to honor local heroes at Loyalty Day, dance to live music or walk through an open garden.

Whether your favorite music is rock, blues, country or disco, hear it all at the Friday night with the Juliano Brothers Band. If you missed it last weekend, be sure to check out the final performances of Friday and Saturday nights or catch the Sunday matinee.  

Honor our local heroes on Saturday at Loyalty Day. Show your appreciation for our firefighters, police officers and EMS!

Why Go: The Springfield Inn presents the Juliano Brothers Band this Friday night! This Philadelphia based band has been playing the music you want to hear since 1985. The band plays a variety of rock, blues, R & B, metal alternative, country, funk and disco. There's something for everyone.

When: Friday, April 27 and Saturday, April 28 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, April 29 at 2 p.m.

Where: 112 Saxer Ave.

Why Go:  The St. Francis Players will be performing the theater production of The Wizard of Oz Friday, Saturday and Sunday this weekend. If you missed it last weekend, be sure to catch your final chance to see the performance. To buy tickets by phone, call 610-544-5992.

Why Go: Rep. William F. Adolph and the in cooperation with VFW Post 928 invite the residents of Springfield to the annual Loyalty Day. Springfield's "Police Officer of the Year," "Firefighter of the Year" and "EMS Person of the Year" will be honored. to view photos of last year's event.

Why Go: George's Music hosts a Basic Guitar and Bass Maintenance Workshop for musicians who are just getting started. Topics include: restringing a guitar and bass, basic maintenance and conditioning, tuning and basic playing tips. There will be special event-only deals and discounts for participants.

When: Saturday, April 28 from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m.

Why Go: Sandra Webberking Studio presents an Artist Studio & Garden Open Tour 2012. Come and enjoy the variety of sculpture, garden designs, birdbath collaborations and jewelry artists.
