Get Out: Memorial Day Weekend Events

There's plenty to do this weekend in Springfield.

Memorial Day Weekend is finally upon us and there are activities everyday this weekend. 

Start off the summer at the  and their Memorial Weekend Kickoff Party with DJ Rick Lesley. The Springfield Township Public Library presents the Muppets Movie on Saturday and has a creative adult-only event on Sunday. Remember Springfield's veterans who sacrificed their lives for freedom at the 2012 Memorial Day Parade Monday morning.

Why Go: Join DJ Rick Lesley at The Springfield Inn this Friday night for their Memorial Weekend Kickoff Party.  Enjoy a night out with friends after the long workweek with dancing, drinks, food and entertainment.

Why Go: The Springfield Township Public Library presents a special viewing of The Muppets. Bring your kids to watch the live-action musical feature film starring Jim Henson's Muppets. Tickets are available in the Youth Services area prior to and on the day of the showing.

Why Go: Michaels Arts & Crafts presents a creative adult only event. Learn new ways to design your own art and punch your pages!

When: Monday, May 28 at 10 a.m.

Where: , 332 W. Springfield Rd.

Why Go: The 2012 parade starts at  and ends at . Join the community to watch veterans, firemen, cub scouts and more march in the parade.
