Halloween Display Brings Police, Complaints to Springfield

A Springfield resident hung a skeleton from a tree that is wearing an Obama/Biden tee-shirt.

Springfield resident George Vucelich, who lives 700 block of Hillborn Avenue, "said he was not thinking about race or lynching — or anything beyond his political beliefs — when he slipped a noose around the neck of a plastic skeleton wearing an Obama-Biden T-shirt and suspended it from a maple tree in his yard," reports the Delco Times.

“I put it up on a Sunday afternoon, and by Sunday evening the police were out front because someone had called 911 and complained," Vucelich told the newspaper.

"Vucelich, who is white, said others have snapped pictures and voiced their displeasure to township officials. As of Tuesday afternoon, he said no one from the township had asked him to modify his Halloween display," the article continues.
