More Sandy Donations Arrive on Staten Is.

Thank You to Everyone Who Helped make our Patch Sandy Relief Drive such a huge success.

Generous Patch readers helped us send a second load of supplies to Staten Island on Saturday.

Friday morning shipper Bill Stevenson contacted Patch, offering to donate his services to take a second huge load of items collected in our Patch Sandy relief supply drive to Staten Island.  As a result of Stevenson's generous offer we were able to put out the call for more supplies (specifically diapers) in an impromptu two hour supplemental supply drive on Friday morning.

In less than an hour generous TE Patch readers responded with donations of diapers, baby wipes and water.

Saturday morning Bill Stevenson (who is a legend in regional rock and roll music) arrived from Delaware with his van and we loaded a second door-straining shipment of urgently needed supplies for the people left devestated by Hurricane/Superstorm Sandy.

Two and a half hours later, and thanks to your kindness and Bill's incredible generosity, a second truckload of items from Springfield and TE Patch readers was being put to good use on Staten Island.

Relief workers say the clean-up may be going on for a year, or longer.

He was so moved by the generosity of our amazing Patchers that he came personally to handle our shipment. We loaded his huge cargo van which he DONATED to the Patch Sandy Relief Drive effort and personally drove to Staten Island on Saturday morning.  I'll have more on Bill's story coming up this week on Springfield Patch.
