Movies: Les Miserables, Django, and More

Some new movies are opening Christmas Day. See what's out and where it's playing locally.

The last week of the year is a popular time to head to the movies. 

You may want to take a break from the holiday festivities to check out one of the three new movies that open on December 25. There are many other popular films in theaters to choose from as well.

Les Miserables (PG-13)

Moviefone Synopsis: "Set against the backdrop of 19th-century France, Les Miserables tells an enthralling story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption-a timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit. Jackman plays ex-prisoner Jean Valjean, hunted for decades by the ruthless policeman Javert (Crowe) after he breaks parole. When Valjean agrees to care for factory worker Fantine's (Hathaway) young daughter, Cosette, their lives change forever."

Django Unchained (R)
