Looking to save money? Try one of these three trips you can enjoy on just one tank of gas: the Mt. Airy Art Garage in Mt. Airy, Jacobsburg State Park in Wind Gap and the Paint n' Pottery and Bead Bazaar in Doylestown.

Mt. Airy Art Garage

Hours: Opens at noon on Friday, Saturday and Sunday; there are also special events throughout the year.

Summary: The Mt. Airy Art Garage is a space that brings together artists in Mt. Airy and elsewhere to work together under one roof. It wants to offer a market where people can purchase art, and it wants to create a permanent gallery highlighting the work of member artists. Its gallery is intended to showcase the work of artists who have contributed to the art garage in the past.

Jacobsburg State Park

Summary: The 1,168-acre Jacobsburg State Park and Environmental Education Center is rich in natural beauty and history. The park includes a National Historic District known for its role in Colonial-era gun manufacturing. There, the Henry family produced the Henry Longrifle and other guns used in the American Revolution and Civil War. A portion of the park known as Henry's Woods features a 1.9-mile loop trail along Bushkill Creek. Visitors can expect to see wildflowers, birds, small mammals and old-growth stands of hemlock and white oak. The park - popular for hiking, picnics and mountain biking - includes more than 18 miles of trails.

Paint N’ Pottery and Bead Bazaar

  • Saturday, Monday and Tuesday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 10 a.m.-9 p.m.
  • Sunday, Noon-6 p.m.

Summary: Billed as the area’s largest, most-complete center for creative fun with paint your own pottery, glass fusing, hand-building with clay and specialty crafts and beads, Paint N' Pottery and Bead Bazaar offers workspace for customers to be creative and make personalized gifts and items for themselves. Customers can design and create items such as mugs, plates, necklaces, earrings, bracelets and coasters from the store's selection of beads, pottery and fused glass. Paint N' Pottery and Bead Bazaar also hosts mom's clubs, summer camps, after-school groups, scout troops, birthday parties, showers and a Friday night kids' club
