This past week has seen gas prices jumping more than two digits in many areas of the country, including the Philadelphia area, according to AAA.
AAA attributes the price jump to a rise in crude oil prices and some refineries closing for good or for maintenance. They call this week-over-week spike the most dramatic in nearly two years.
In Springfield Patch, the best price is $3.67 at the Shell on Baltimore Pike, according to Patch’s commute report.
Here are the average gas prices from February 5, according to AAA:
Area Average Price Jump in last week Philadelphia (5-County) $3.67/gallon 18 cents South Jersey $3.52/gallon 18 cents Delaware $3.62/gallon 21 cents National $3.53/gallon 17 cents
