"Death on the 16th Fairway" Suits Golfers and Murder Mystery Buffs to a Tee

The just-released “Death on the 16th Fairway” entertainment package is sure to
interest avid golfers and mystery fans alike.

Based on a three-part story conceived and written by Art Leahy, a devoted golfer, author and playwright, and well-known and highly-respected investment adviser based in Delaware County, “Death on the 16th Fairway” is the story of Ryan’s Way, an exclusive and high end golf club with first-class dining, swimming, and fitness facilities, and all the intriguing characters that surrounds them.

While the trilogy is fictitious, it is loosely based upon Leahy’s behind-the-scenes experience as a private golf club member, and financial professional.

“Death on the 16th Fairway” is set during a time of financial peril, when the financial markets made a correction after a strong recovery from the dot.com implosion.

“It starts in the Fall of 2007, when a dead body is discovered at Fader’s Bog on hole number 16. It’s the course’s signature hole. Every course has its baby,” says
Leahy. “The death not only happens on the signature hole, but during the week of the 50th anniversary, which in the world of golf is devastating, times two.”

The one-of-a-kind trilogy is now available in three formats – an audio drama for downloading, an eBook, and also on CD.

In the audio presentation of Part One “Who is Mr. X?”, Jim Kelly plays the part of narrator, as well as forecaddie,” Speedy Greens. Kelly, one of the 15 voices featured in “Who is Mr. X?” introduces each scene and guides the listener around the course of the ever-developing mystery.

“The stories, the sound effects, and the music, combined with the dynamic variety of characters and voices, bring the mystery to life, and paint a picture for the ears,” says Kelly. “It’s reminiscent of the old CBS Mystery Theatre spearheaded by my mentor and friend, Dick Brescia.  People remember that genre from days gone by. Nobody but us is doing full-length audio dramas like this today.”

Proceeds of “Death on the 16th Fairway” benefit three charities chosen at checkout, including Autism Speaks, Shelter Box Program of Rotary International, and the United Services Organization (USO).
