Go Girl Scouts! Happy 100th Anniversary

Juliette Gordon Low held the first Girl Scout meeting in Savannah, Ga. on March 12, 1912.

As we continue to enjoy our favorite cookies this season, all across the nation are celebrating 100 years of service this week.

Juliette Gordon Low founded Girl Scouting on March 12, 1912, in Savannah, Georgia, in order to give girls access to unique leadership opportunities that enabled them to contribute to society in meaningful ways.

Low believed girls were as interested in sports, science, community service, and making a difference in the world as much as boys. The organization quickly grew from 18 original members and now boasts more than 3.2 million girl and adult members nationwide.
