Obituary: Verna Davison, 84

54-year Springfield resident was a long-time employee at the Delaware County Courthouse.

Mrs. Verna (nee Nowosacki) Davison, 84, of Media, PA, formerly of Springfield, PA died on January 13, 2013 at Riddle Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in Nanticoke, PA, Mrs. Davison was a longtime resident (54 years) of Springfield before moving to Media one year ago.  Early in life she was a bookkeeper for J.E.
Caldwell and Company.  Beginning in 1977 Mrs. Davison worked in accounts payable at the Delaware County Court House, retiring as a supervisor in 1994.

She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church and was a volunteer at the Springfield Hospital and at St. Francis.

She was an avid Pinochle player, handing down her love of the game to her children and grandchildren.  She was devoted to her family and enjoyed traveling as well as her many social activities with her circle of friends.

She is survived by two sons, James P. (Cindy) Davison, of Springfield, PA, and Paul (Regina) Davison of New London, PA, four grandchildren, Jessica (Jon) Patton, Rebecca, Thomas, and Michael Davison.  She is also survived by 2 loving sisters-in-law, Dorothy and Neva Nowosacki and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased
by her husband, James Davison, in 1985.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Friday, January 18, from 7-9 PM and Saturday, January 19, from 8:30 –9:30 AM at the Kovacs Funeral Home, Inc., 530
W. Woodland Avenue, Springfield, PA 19064 and to her funeral Mass on Saturday January 19 at 10:00 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 136 Saxer Avenue, Springfield, PA.

Interment will be in SS Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
