Restaurant Review: Carrabba's Italian Grill

Are you looking to try a new restaurant in Springfield? Want to find out what locals are saying about Carrabba's Italian Grill?

Carrabba's Italian Grill is a chain restaurant that was started by Damian Mandola and Johnny Carrabba, two Texans with Italian roots.

"Italians have been grilling for centuries," says Mandola on the Carrabba's website. Italian food is much more varied than the spaghetti and red sauce that has come to represent Italian food in America. Grilled and roasted meats and fish are very popular in Italy. As for our recipes, some were my mother's and my grandmother's, and many, I created myself."

Carrabba's goal is to serve fresh, flavorful food. You can view facts about their ingredients on their website.  They offer seasonal specials and a 5 for $5 Happy Hour menu.

Online reviews frequently praise the calamari, scallops, and mussels. The service and atmosphere was also recommended.

What Customers Have To Say

"Their scallops are wonderful! When we go with friends we all get something different so we can try new dishes, and no one has been disappointed. Their mussels are wonderful too," said an anonymous reviewer on Menupages.

"Some of the better calamari you'll find at a chain restaurant," said Dave on Foursquare. "For an easy lunch get some calamari and a salad. It's filling and reasonably priced."

"Lobster Ravioli is always a great option," said Steve on Foursquare.

"Excellent food and excellent service," said diner66 on Restaurantica. "The fresh baked hot bread with olive oil is superb."

"This is a chain that has truly succeeded by virtue of excellent food, a professional staff and reasonable family-friendly prices. We were pleasantly and totally stuffed," said one reviewer on ezcater.
