Armed Men Rob Swiss Farms Store

Police say one man was armed with a gun and another had a knife.

Two armed men robbed the Swiss Farms Store on the 700 block of S. Chester Road Saturday, according to a Springfield Township Police report.

Police said one man was armed with a handgun and the other with a knife.

Both men with faces covered entered the the store and told the employees to get down on the ground, according to Patrolman Stephen Hurwitz’s investigation.

The thieves then went through the cash register, according to the police, report and they were then taken to the safe and removed the cash.

Police said both men fled into a wooded area to the rear of the business. The area was checked by numerous local police departments, including a K-9 Unit from Darby Township Police, but the thieves were gone.

No one was injured in the robbery.

Police described the robbers:

  • White male
  • Medium build
  • Late teens to early 20s
  • Wearing a long sleeve t-shirt, jeans and a hat


Robber #2

  • White male
  • Small build
  • Late teens to early 20s
  • Wearing a long sleeve t-shirt, jeans and a Phillies baseball cap
