Best Buy Hit Twice in One Day, Police Say

Springfield Police charge two people in separate incidents, reported within hours of each other.

 

Springfield Police are investigating two reports of theft at the Best Buy on Baltimore Pike within hours of each other.

In the first case, police say Best Buy security reported they had a man in custody and being held for retail theft on March 6 at 12:26 p.m.. Police say the 22-year-old Philadelphia man was observed using a razor to cut open a prepaid cell phone package. According to police the man fled the store but was caught by security.

He was charged with retail theft for taking $320 worth of merchandise from the store and possession of instruments of crime.

At 4:43 p.m. on March 6, Springfield Police say Best Buy reported that they had a woman being detained for retail theft at the store.

In the second incident, police charged a 24-year-old Exton woman with taking $539.97 worth of merchandise from the store.
