Attempted Burglary—CVS Pharmacy in the 700 block of Baltimore Pike at about 1:25 a.m. on Monday. Springfield Police responded to a burglar alarm at the store and when officers arrived they found that someone had forcibly entered the business through the drive-thru window. The area was secured and a K-9 dog was requested from the Upper Darby Police Department. The interior was searched with the dog but no one was located.

Further investigation showed that the power had been shut down to the business by pulling three large fuses from an electric box on the outside of the building. The store was checked and it did not appear as if anything had been taken. The incident is under investigation by Det. Robert Nutley.

Burglary—500 block of E. Springfield Road at about 10:56 a.m. on Jan. 30. A resident reported that sometime during the night someone forcibly entered the home through the front door. The house is vacant due to a recent death. Once inside the person did significant damage to numerous rooms and various pieces of jewelry were removed from a filing cabinet. The incident is under investigation by Det. James Devaney.

Theft—Springfield Mall between Jan. 27 and 31. A Havertown resident reported that someone stole her wallet from her pocketbook while she was shopping at the mall. The wallet contained various forms of identification, credit cards, and three gift cards. It did not appear as if the credit cards had been used prior to the victim cancelling them. The incident is under investigation by Det. James Devaney.
