Blotter: Car Egged on Halloween Night

Plus: A candy dish was stolen from a home in a separate incident.

The following information was supplied by the Springfield Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

 

Mischief—Unit block of S. Britton Road at about 11:42 a.m. on Nov. 1. A resident reported that sometime during the night someone egged her vehicle while it was parked on the street in front of the home.

Burglary—100 block of Broadview Road at about 9:21 a.m. on Nov. 3. A resident reported that sometime during the previous day someone had entered her home through an unlocked garage door. Once inside the actor(s) stole a silver candy dish from the china cabinet. It appears that this was the only item taken from the home. The incident is under investigation by Detective Bridget McCarthy.

Retail Theft—The Five Below Store in the 400 block of S. State Rd. at about 10:51 a.m. on Nov. 4. The store reported that a black woman fled the store without paying for a bag full of merchandise. The area was checked but the woman was gone. The stolen items were valued in excess of $25.
