Blotter: Jewelry Stolen in Daytime Burglary

The lock on the front door of the home was forced open, police say.

The following information was supplied by the Springfield Police Department. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven otherwise. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

 

Burglary—300 block of W. Springfield Road between 7:50 a.m. and 4:33 p.m. on Jan. 15. A resident reported that someone forcibly entered her home through the front door.

An investigation showed that the lock and trim on the front door had been forced open and the second floor master bedroom had been ransacked. A pillow case with a quantity of jewelry was known to be missing at the time of the report.

The incident is under investigation by Detective Daniel McNeely.
