Blotter: Man Charged in Prescription Fraud

Plus: A window was broken at the Rodeway Inn, in a separate incident.

The following information was supplied by the Springfield Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Stolen Property—900 block of Westdale Place at about 9:12 a.m. on Nov. 26. A resident that sometime during the night someone stole a decorative Christmas solar light from the front yard of the home.

Violations of the Health and Safety Act—Target in the 800 block of Baltimore Pike at about 3:46 p.m. on Nov. 27. Store Security reported that a man was in the pharmacy attempting to pass a fraudulent prescription. Patrolman Kai DiRemigio responded and entered the store. As the officer entered, the men, was observed attempting to flee. William Warner, 32, of Glenolden, was apprehended and identified by store security. The investigation showed that Warner was allegedly using a stolen prescription pad from a doctor that he had previously been a patient of. Warner was taken into custody and transported to the Springfield Police Station. He was charged with violations of the Health and Safety Act and the Pharmacy Act. The incident is under investigation by Detective James Devaney.

Damaged Property—The Rodeway Inn in the 600 block of Baltimore Pike at about 1:03 p.m. on Nov. 29. The Inn reported that sometime during the night someone broke the front window pane of glass on one of the rooms at the motel.
