Blotter: Retail Thefts Reported at Springfield Mall
Plus: About $170 in change was stolen from a coin dispenser.

Retail Theft—Zumiez Store in the Springfield Mall at about 3:05 p.m. on Oct. 8. The store reported that they had a female in custody in connection with a retail theft. Patrolman Joseph Prendergast responded and took a 19-year-old Drexel Hill woman into custody and transported her to the Springfield Police Station. The woman was issued a citation for retail theft for taking $26.99 worth of merchandise from the store. Detective Bridget McCarthy is handling the investigation.

Retail Theft—Target at the Springfield Mall at about 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 8. Store security reported that they had a female in custody in connection with a retail theft. Patrolman Scott Francis responded and took a 17-year-old juvenile from Philadelphia into custody and transported her to the Springfield Police Station. The 17-year-old was issued a citation for retail theft for taking $149.99 worth of merchandise from the store. She was later released to a relative. The incident is under investigation by Detective Daniel McNeely.
Theft—Innovative Foto kiosk in the Springfield Mall at about 9:11 a.m. on Oct. 11. The store reported that sometime between Oct. 8 and 11, someone pried open the coin dispenser on the kiosk and stole a large amount of change. The loss was valued in excess of $170.
