Blotter: Safes, Laptop, TV Stolen From Sproul Road Businesses
Police say a man stole a PlayStation from a Target and then sold it to GameStop, before leaving the Springfield Mall.

Safes, Computer, TV Stolen From Sproul Road Businesses
August 6: Three businesses in the 700 block of W. Sproul Rd., The Girls Scouts Of America, , and , reported that sometime during the weekend someone entered their unsecured offices. The investigation showed that two safes were removed from one business, a laptop computer from another, and a 42 inch screen television from the other. The entry was apparently made through an unsecured front door to the business complex. Detective Sgt. John DiTrolio is handling the investigation.
Police: Man Stole Play Station From Target, Sold It To Game Stop
August 6: Security in the reported that a white male just fled the store without paying for a PlayStation controller. The actor was last seen entering the store in the mall. Patrolman Dante Annacone responded and the investigation showed that the actor sold the item to the GameStop and fled the area. Target Security reported that the same actor is a suspect in similar prior incidents. The total amount of the thefts is $384. The incidents are under investigation by Detective Sgt. John DiTrolio.
Police: Woman Stealing From Target Carried Suspected Narcotics
August 6: Security in the reported that a white female was leaving the store without paying for a quantity of merchandise. Ptlm. Michael Kingsbury arrived to find security officers attempting to take the female into custody but she was resisting. The actor was taken into custody by Ptlm. Kingsbury and security officers. When the actor was searched she was found to be in possession of suspected narcotics. She was transported to the and charged with Retail Theft for taking $121.59 worth of merchandise from the store, Simple Assault, Violations Of The Health & Safety Act, and Disorderly Conduct. The incident is under investigation by Detective Bridget McCarthy.
Maplewood Resident Says Vehicle Was Rummaged
August 7: A resident from the 600 block of Maplewood Rd. reported that sometime during the night someone entered her unlocked vehicle and rummaged through the interior. It does not appear as if anything had been taken.
