Blotter: Tools Taken from Unlocked Garage

Plus: An attempt to enter a separate garage was prevented because the door was blocked by items, police say.

The following information was supplied by the Springfield Police Department. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven otherwise. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

 

Stolen Property—400 block of Kent Rd at about 9:40 a.m. on Jan. 22. A resident reported that sometime during the night someone entered his unlocked garage and stole a cordless drill and a cordless driver. The tools were valued at $250.

Attempted Theft—200 block of Welsh Drive at about 7:32 a.m. on Jan. 27. A resident reported that sometime during the night someone attempted to enter his detached garage by forcing the side door. No entry was gained due to the door being blocked by a large amount of items in the garage. Damage was found to the door knob and lock.
