Vacuum Cleaners Stolen from Target

Blotter: Tthe suspect was interested in one particular brand.

The following information was supplied by the Springfield Police Department. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven otherwise. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Retail Theft—Target in the Springfield Mall at about 4:26 p.m. on Jan. 23. Store security reported that over the last few weeks a man had been entering the store and stealing Dyson vacuum cleaners. The man was seen fleeing security and entered a red van. The area was checked but he was gone. Then at about 7 a.m. on Jan. 24, Target Security called and reported that three additional vacuum cleaners were missing. The total loss was $2,799.95. The incidents are under investigation by Detective Bridget McCarthy.

Retail Theft—Target in the Springfield Mall at about 2:30 p.m. on Jan. 22. Store security reported that they had a man in custody for a retail theft at the store. Patrolman David DiTrolio responded and took a 32-year-old Chester man into custody and transported him to the Springfield Police Station. He was charged with retail theft in connection with taking $216.90 worth of merchandise from the store. Detective Robert Nutley is handling the investigation.
