Blotter: Wallet Taken from Unlocked Vehicle in Giant Parking Lot

Plus: A camera was taken from Victoria's Secret after the victim accidentally left it in the store.

Vehicle Break-In—Giant Food Store in the 900 block of Baltimore Pike between 4:15 and 4:45 p.m. on Sept. 28. An Aldan resident reported that an unknown person entered her unlocked vehicle and stole her wallet while she was shopping inside the store, according to police. The wallet contained various forms of identification and credit cards.

DUI—1100 block of Baltimore Pike at about 11:05 p.m. on Sept. 29. Patrolman Sean Clifton observed a vehicle driving in a reckless manner. The vehicle was stopped and the driver, 50-year-old Media woman, was found to be intoxicated, according to police. The woman was taken to Springfield Hospital, had blood drawn and was then transported to the Springfield Police Station. She was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and related motor vehicle violations and was later released to a relative. The incident is under investigation by Detective Daniel McNeely.

Stolen Property—Victoria's Secret Store in the Springfield Mall between 5 and 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 30. A Brookhaven resident reported that someone stole her Cannon digital camera while she was shopping at the store, according to police. The victim was shopping in the store and placed the camera down on a counter. She left the store and realized she had left the camera on the counter but when she returned to the store, the camera was gone, according to police. The camera was valued in excess of $350.
