Blotter: Woman Cited For Stealing Shoes

A wallet was stolen from a vehicle in the Michaels parking lot and another from a purse at Panera, according to the Springfield's police blotter

Woman Cited For Stealing Shoes

July 23: The Store in the 1100 block of Baltimore Pike reported that a female just left the store without paying for two pairs of shoes. A woman got into a vehicle and fled the lot onto Sproul Road. The clerk had obtained the vehicle’s registration number. Patrolman Sean Clifton arrived and contacted the owner of the vehicle who later responded back to the store with the female to return the shoes. A 28-year-old woman from Ridley Park was taken into custody and transported to the Springfield Police Station. She was issued a citation for Retail Theft for taking $60 worth of merchandise from the store. Detective James Devaney is handling the investigation.

Wallet, Bag Stolen From Unlocked Car Parked at Michaels

July 24: A Clifton Heights resident reported that sometime between 6:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. July 24 someone entered his unlocked vehicle and stole his wallet and a duffel bag while the vehicle was parked in the lot of Craft Store in the 600 block of Baltimore Pike. The wallet contained various forms of identification, cash, and credit cards. The bag contained his reading glasses and an iPhone case. The victim was able to cancel the credit cards before they were used. The incident is under investigation by Detective James Devaney.

Wallet Stolen From Employee Area of Panera Bread

July 26: An employee of in the 1000 block Baltimore Pike reported that sometime during the afternoon on July 23, someone stole her wallet from her pocketbook in the employee’s area. The victim did not realize that the theft had taken place until later that day. The wallet contained various forms of identification, a paycheck debit card, and credit cards. The investigation showed that someone attempted to use one of the credit cards at a local business before the victim could cancel them. The incident is under investigation by Detective James Devaney.

Burglar Takes Jewelry, Computer From Locust Ave Home

July 27: A resident from the unit block of Locust Avenue reported that sometime between 7 a.m. and 5:08 p.m. someone forcibly entered his home through the front door. Once inside the intruder ransacked the bedrooms on the second floor of the home. A quantity of jewelry and an HP computer are known to have been taken. The incident is under investigation by Detective James Devaney.
