Call the Cops: Someone Steals Pricey Phones

Also in the Police Blotter: Springfield Police investigate an unrelated theft at another major retailer.

The following information was supplied by the Springfield Police Department. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven otherwise. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Retail Theft: January 14 at 9:50 a.m.

The T-Mobile Store in the Springfield Mall reported that sometime over the last few weeks someone stole two Blackberry Phones and a MYTOUCH Phone from a locked storage cabinet at the store. There were no signs of forced entry. The theft is in excess of $1,500.00.

Retail Theft January 2 at 2:49 p.m.

Target Security in the 800 Blk. of Baltimore Pk. reported that they had a male in custody for Retail Theft at the store. Ptlm. Nicholas Paytas responded and took Brandon Ayers, 22, of the 5100 Blk. of Columbia Ave. in Phila. into custody and transported him to the Springfield Police Station. He originally gave the officer a false name. He was charged Retail Theft for taking $317.99 worth of merchandise from the store, Receiving Stolen Property, Criminal Mischief(for damaging a cash register), and False Identification To Law Enforcement. Detective Robert Nutley is handling  the investigation.
