Springfield Fire Co. Puts on Open House for Community

It was cool, but it was serious.

Firefighters and members of the Springfield Ambulance Corps held their annual open house Friday night at the Springfield Fire and Ambulance Headquarters.

Hundreds of families flocked to Station 44 to see demonstrations of just how fast and how furious a kitchen fire moves, how rescue crews pull open a car and all kinds of fire trucks from volunteer fire companies around Delaware County.

Many of the same companies will take part in the annial Delco Fire Parade Saturday afternoon at 5 p.m. in Yeadon.
