Firefighters Rescue Dog from Under Shed

Springfield Fire Company 44 saved a puppy that got stuck under a shed at a Cheney Road residence.

responded to a report from a Cheney Road resident June 2 at 9:30 p.m. that their dog was stuck under a shed at their home, a report on the fire company's website states.

A crew of six firefighters worked for 20 minutes to pull up floorboards to get the puppy out, according to the report.

"Firefighters, reluctantly, due to cuteness, handed the new puppy over to the thankful owners. Crystal, the puppy's new name, enjoyed a nice relaxing evening."
