Five Charges, Including Assault, for Rowdy Bar Patron

A Springfield resident threw a chair at a bar bouncer July 23 at about 1:40 a.m., police said.

The following information has been supplied by the Lower Merion Police Department. If arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate guilt or a conviction.

Police arrested a Springfield man at in Ardmore early Saturday morning and charged him with simple assault, disorderly conduct, public intoxication, recklessly endangering another person and harassment.

Michael Tubens, 26, threw a chair toward a bouncer July 23 at about 1:40 a.m., police said, but the chair instead hit an unidentified woman standing nearby, cutting her on the face and requiring her to be treated at Bryn Mawr Hospital. Police did not know her medical condition Monday.

Tubens is being held in lieu of $5,000 bail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Friday morning in front of Judge Francis J. Bernhardt III in Conshohocken, according to a court document.
