Four Theft Incidents at Target, Police Say

Over $700 of merchandise was stolen over four incidents, according to Springfield Police.

Retail Theft: According to police, Springfield Mall security caught a man trying to use wire cutters to break the security chain on items at the mall’s Target store. Security transported the man to the Springfield Police, where he was found to be in possession of marijuana, police say. The man is charged with taking $200 in merchandise from the store.

Retail Theft: Springfield Mall security reported that a man was seen leaving Target without paying for various items. Officers apprehended the man and delivered him to the Springfield Police Department, according to reports. Police say that the man was in possession of narcotics when search. He is charged with taking $209 in merchandise from the store.

Retail Theft: According to Target Security, a man was seen leaving the Baltimore Pike store without paying for a number of DVDs. Officers checked the area but could not find the unknown man. The items are valued at $100.

Retail Theft: Target Security in the Springfield Mall reported that they had a male in custody for Retail Theft at the store. According to reports, Springfield police took the individual into custody and transported him to the Springfield Police Station. The person was cited with retail theft for taking $39.99 worth of merchandise from the store and was later released, police say.
