Man Found Slumped Over Wheel on Local Lawn

Police Blotter: Officer discovers car on a Springfield home's front lawn.

October 15 at 2:45 a.m.

While on patrol in the 800 Blk. of Grove Ave. Ptlm. Andrew McKinney observed a vehicle on the front lawn of a home. The investigation showed that the operator was slumped over the wheel. Further investigation showed that the operator, Abass Kamara, 23, of the 5000 Blk. of Erringer Place in Phila. to be intoxicated. He was taken into custody, taken to Springfield Hospital and had blood drawn, and was then transported to the Springfield Police Station.

He was charged with Driving Under The Influence Of Alcohol and was later released to a relative. Detective Robert Nutley is handling the investigation.
