Multiple Thefts Reported at Springfield Mall

Police investigated a number of retail thefts and a stolen wallet.

Multiple thefts at Springfield Mall, including retail thefts and a stolen wallet, were reported to police recently.

  • A Thornton, Pa., resident reported that sometime between 10:30 a.m. and noon Dec. 7, someone stole her wallet from a diaper bag while she was shopping at the Build-A-Bear Workshop Store in the Springfield Mall. The wallet contained various forms of identification, cash, and credit cards. The victim was able to cancel the credit cards before they could be used.
  • Macy's Security reported at 5:15 p.m. Dec. 7 that they had a female in custody for retail theft at the store. Patrolman Patrick McKenna responded and took Zhaneta Dhandili, 51, of Richfield Road in Upper Darby, into custody and transported her to the Springfield Police Station. She was charged with Retail Theft for taking $177.47 worth of merchandise from the store. Detective Robert Nutley is handling the investigation.
  • The Zumiez Store in the Springfield Mall at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 7 reported that they had a young female in custody for retail theft at the store. Patrolman Andrew McKinney responded and took a 16-year-old juvenile from Yeadon into custody and transported her to the Springfield Police Station. She was issued a citation for retail theft for taking $29.95 worth of merchandise from the store. She was later released to a relative. The incident is under investigation by Detective Robert Nutley.
  • Best Buy Security at 10:30 p.m. Dec. 7 reported that they had a male in custody for retail theft at the store. Patrolman Andrew McKinney responded and took Mohammed Hossain, 22, of Hirst Avenue in East Lansdowne, into custody and transported him to the Springfield Police Station. He was charged with retail theft for taking $169.69 worth of merchandise from the store. Detective Robert Nutley is handling the investigation.
