Multiple Thefts Reported at Springfield Mall

Multiple high-value retail thefts were reported to Springfield Police in the days leading up to Christmas.

Multiple retails thefts were reported to Springfield Police in the days leading up to Christmas.

  • The Victoria’s Secret in the Springfield Mall reported at about 4:45 p.m. Dec. 23 that they had a female in custody for retail theft. Patrolman David DiTrolio responded and took Bintou Sontra, 18, of the 100 block of North Second Street in Darby into custody and transported her to the Springfield Police Station. She was charged with retail theft for taking $484.40 worth of merchandise from the store and receiving stolen property. Detective James Devaney is handling the investigation.
  • Macy’s Security reported at about 10:20 p.m. Dec. 23 that they had a female in custody for retail theft. Patrolman Daniel Boyd responded and took Sierra Rasul, 22, of the 5900 block of Wharton Street in Philadelphia into custody and transported her to the Springfield Police Station. She was charged with retail theft for taking $777 worth of merchandise from the store and receiving stolen property. Detective James Devaney is handling the  investigation.
  • Macy’s Security reported at about 2:20 p.m. Dec. 24 that a black male just fled the store without paying for 10 Michael Kors coats. The actor took the coats from a display rack and fled out the rear exit of the store. The area was checked but the actor was gone. The coats are valued at $1,119.99.
