Police Blotter: Attempted Car Theft, Purse Snatched, Vehicle Spray-Painted

Investigation showed that someone had punched in the lock on the vehicle's driver's door and, once inside, attempted to steal the vehicle by punching out the ignition.

Dirt Bike Stolen

A resident from the 300 block of Sedgewood Road reported Jan. 16 at 9:10 a.m. that sometime during the night someone stole a maroon colored, 20’, boy’s, dirt bike from the front porch of the home. The bike is valued more than $300.

Sweat Suits Stolen

The store in the reported Jan. 16 at 6:15 p.m. that a young female distracted the sales clerk and a black male and black female fled the store with a quantity of stolen sweat shirts and sweat pants from a display in the front of the store. The items are valued in excess of $500.

Vehicle Spray-Painted

A Philadelphia resident reported that sometime Jan. 19 between 8 a.m. and 10:18 a.m. someone spray-painted the side of her vehicle while it was parked in the lot of the in the 1100 block of Baltimore Pike.

Alleged Retail Theft, Suspected Narcotics

security in the reported Jan. 19 at 4:14 p.m. that they had a female in custody for retail theft at the store. Patrolman Joseph O’Berg responded and took Meagan Faulkner, 26, of the 300 block of Sylvania Avenue in Folsom, into custody and transported her to the Springfield Police Station. She was found to be in possession of suspected narcotics when she was searched. She was charged with Retail Theft for allegedly taking $147.11 worth of merchandise from the store, Receiving Stolen Property and Violations Of The Health & Safety Act. Detective Daniel McNeely is handling the investigation.

Purse Reported Stolen at Beauty School

A Philadelphia resident reported Jan. 19 that sometime between 4 p.m. and 5:50 p.m. someone stole credit cards and a debit card from her pocketbook while she was at the in the 700 block of W. Sproul Road. The victim was able to cancel the cards before the actor(s) were able to use them.

Man Charged with Retail Theft

’s security reported Jan. 19 at 9:09 p.m. that they had a male in custody for retail theft at the store. Patrolman Kai DiRemigio responded and took Bruce Love, 20, of the 6900 block of Guilford Road in Upper Darby into custody and transported him to the Springfield Police Station. He was issued a citation for Retail Theft for allegedly taking $49.99 worth of merchandise from the store. Detective Daniel McNeely is handling the investigation.

Wallet Stolen from Unlocked Vehicle

A resident of Worrell Drive reported Jan. 20 at 9:20 a.m. that sometime during the night someone entered her unlocked vehicle and stole her wallet while the vehicle was parked on the street in front of the home. The wallet contained various forms of identification and credit cards.

Woman Charged with Retail Theft

The in the 700 block of W. Sproul Road reported Jan. 20 at 8:27 p.m. that they had a female in custody for retail theft at the store. Patrolman Andrew Graff responded and took Mary McLaughlin, 57, of the 700 block of Sussex Road in Wynnewood, into custody. She was issued a citation for Retail Theft for allegedly taking $87.77 worth of merchandise from the store. She was released from the scene. The incident is under investigation by Detective Daniel McNeely.

Woman Allegedly Steals from Grocery Store

reported Jan. 22 at 11:29 a.m. that they had a female in custody for retail theft at the store. Patrolman Stephen Hurwitz responded and took Claire Cairns, 56, of the 200 block of Bowdoin Avenue in Swarthmore, into custody. She was issued a citation for retail theft for allegedly taking $48 worth of merchandise from the store. She was released at the scene. The incident is under investigation by Detective Daniel McNeely.

Attempted Car Theft

A resident from the in the 200 block of N. State Road reported Jan. 22 at 1:47 p.m. that sometime during the night someone attempted to steal his Dodge Caravan while it was parked in front of his apartment. The investigation showed that someone had punched in the lock on the driver’s door and, once inside, attempted to steal the vehicle by punching out the vehicle’s ignition.

Employee Charged with Retail Theft

The store in the reported Jan. 22 at 6:45 p.m. that they had a male employee in custody for retail theft. Sgt. Kurt Sellers responded and took Brian Dalton, 18, of the 500 block Cypress Street in Yeadon, into custody. He was issued a citation for retail theft for allegedly taking $104.98 worth of merchandise from the store. He was released at the scene. The incident is under investigation by Detective Daniel McNeely.
