Unlocked Vehicle Invaded

On Oct. 31 8:30 a.m. a resident from the 700 block of Parker Drive reported that sometime during the night someone entered her unlocked vehicle while it was parked in the driveway of the home. The vehicle was rummaged through but it did not appear as if anything had been taken.

Graffiti on Sidewalk

A resident from the 300 block of Alliston Road reported Oct. 31 at 8:35 a.m. that sometime during the night someone spray-painted obscene graffiti on the sidewalk in the front of the home.

Vehicle Covered in Slime

A resident from the 1000 block of Stewart Avenue reported Oct. 31 at 9:10 p.m. that sometime during the night someone covered her vehicle with a yogurt-like substance while it was parked in the driveway of the home.

Cash Missing from Register

security in the reported Oct. 31 at 11:15 p.m. that they had an employee in custody for allegedly stealing cash from her assigned cash register at the store. Patrolman Michael Kingsbury responded and took Regina Marchetti, 25, of the 700 block of Grant Road in Folcroft, into custody and transported her to the Springfield Police Station. Further investigation showed that she had been involved in numerous similar prior thefts totaling in excess of $3,500. She was charged with Theft By Unlawful Taking, Theft By Deception and Receiving Stolen Property. The incident is under investigation by Detective James Devaney.

TV, Headphones and Monitor Stolen

The reported Nov. 1 at 12:43 p.m. that sometime between 9 a.m. and the time of the report someone stole two Samsung LED televisions, a pair of Vizio headphones and a Samsung monitor from the respective displays at the store. The items are valued in excess of $500.

Retail Theft Charge

security reported Nov. 1 at 1:45 p.m. that they had a female in custody for retail theft at the store. Sgt. Raymond Purcell responded and took Mary Kate Connelly, 20, of the 1800 block of Constitution Avenue in Woodlyn into custody and transported her to the Springfield Police Station. She was issued a citation for Retail Theft for taking $117.99 worth of merchandise from the store. Detective Bridget McCarthy is handling the investigation.

Who Let the Dog Out?

A resident from the 700 block of Bradford Terrace reported Nov. 1 at 4:34 p.m. that sometime between 11 a.m. and noon someone forcibly entered his home by forcing the lock on the rear door. Once inside the actor(s) went through various rooms. A 50’ Panasonic flat screen television, a 42’ Panasonic flat screen television, a Nintendo Wii game system with games, a jewelry box containing an unknown amount of jewelry, a laptop computer and a digital camera, are all known to have been stolen from the home. The family dog, which is usually kept inside, was found outside in the fenced-in yard when the victim returned home. The incident is under investigation by Detective James Devaney.

Dude, Where’s My Bike?

A resident from the 600 block of Hey Lane reported Nov. 1 at 7:49 p.m. that sometime during the night someone stole a white-colored 20’ boy’s Mongoose bike from the driveway of the home.

Employee Charged with Theft

security in the reported Nov. 3 at 8:49 a.m. that they had a male employee is custody for allegedly stealing an Apple iPad from the electronics department of the store. Patrolman Scott Francis responded and took Corey Hall, 22, of the 500 block of Elm Avenue in Upper Darby, into custody and transported him to the Springfield Police Station. He was charged with Theft By Unlawful Taking and Receiving Stolen Property for allegedly taking $829.99 worth of merchandise from the store. Detective Daniel McNeely is handling the investigation.

Three Vehicles Stolen from Car Dealership

The in the 800 block of Baltimore Pike reported Nov. 3 9:30 a.m. that sometime during the night someone forcibly entered the detailing shop area and stole sets of keys to customers’ vehicles that were parked in the lot. The investigation showed entry was made by shattering a pane of glass on one of the garage doors. A blue-colored 2010 Toyota RAV4 Sport Utility, a blue-colored 2006 Toyota Sienna Van and a 2009 Toyota RAV4 Sport Utility vehicle were taken. The incident is under investigation by Detective Daniel McNeely.

Woman Charged with Retail Theft

security reported Nov. 3 12:03 p.m. that they had a female in custody for retail theft at the store. Patrolman Scott Francis responded and took Tyshanique Johnson-Beyah, 23, of the 6600 block of Greenway Avenue in Philadelphia, into custody and transported her to the Springfield Police Station. She was charged with Retail Theft for allegedly taking $380.50 worth of merchandise from the store. Detective Daniel McNeely is handling the investigation.

Display TV Stolen

The reported Nov. 3 at 2:10 p.m. that sometime on Nov. 2 between 11 a.m. and noon someone stole a 22’ LED HD television from a display in the front of the store. The item is valued at $199.99.

Employee Charged with Theft

security in the reported Nov. 4 at 1 a.m. that they had an employee in custody for stealing an iPad 64BG from a display in the store. Patrolman Patrick McKenna responded and took Maurice Felix, 24, of the 8100 block of Angelo Place in Philadelphia into custody and transported him to the Springfield Police Station. He was charged with Theft By Unlawful Taking and Receiving Stolen Property for allegedly taking $829.99 worth of merchandise from the store. Detective Bridget McCarthy is handling the investigation.

DUI, Marijuana Possession

While on patrol in the area of Stewart Avenue & Edgewood Drive, Patrolman Jeffrey Shull observed a vehicle driving in a reckless manner Nov. 4 at 4:57 a.m. The vehicle was stopped and the operator, Laura Canale, 30, of the 500 block of Morton Avenue in Ridley Park, was allegedly intoxicated. She was also found to be in possession of a quantity of suspected marijuana when she was searched. She was taken to , had blood drawn and was then transported to the Springfield Police Station. She was charged with Driving Under The Influence Of Alcohol, Violations of The Health & Safety Act and various Motor Vehicle Violations. She was later released to a relative. The incident is under investigation by Detective Bridget McCarthy.

Man Charged with Retail Theft

’s security reported Nov. 4 at 12:03 p.m. that they had a male in custody for retail theft at the store. Officer Kai DiRemigio responded and took Malik Nedd, 22, of the 5100 block of Funston Street in Philadelphia, into custody and transported him to the Springfield Police Station. He was issued a citation for Retail Theft for allegedly taking $90 worth of merchandise from the store. Detective Daniel McNeely is handling the investigation.

Loose Change Stolen from Unlocked Vehicle

On Nov. 4 at 3:25 p.m., a resident from the Unit block of Barbara Drive reported that sometime during the night someone entered her unlocked vehicle and stole a quantity of loose change from the console while the vehicle was parked in the driveway of the home.

DUI on State Road

While on patrol in the area of N. State Road and Weymouth Road, Patrolman Michael Kingsbury observed a vehicle being driven in a reckless manner Nov. 5 at 4:19 a.m. The vehicle was stopped and the operator, Yassine Jaouad, 42, of the 300 block of E. 14th St. in Chester, was allegedly intoxicated. He was taken to Springfield Hospital, had blood drawn, and was then transported to the Springfield Police Station. He was charged with Driving Under The Influence Of Alcohol and related Motor Vehicle Violations. He was later released to a relative. The incident is under investigation by Detective Bridget McCarthy.

Rock Shatters Windshield

A resident from the 200 block of Ballymore Road reported Nov. 5 at 10:34 a.m. that sometime during the night someone shattered the windshield of his vehicle with a rock while it was parked in the driveway of the home. The rock was possibly thrown from the SEPTA trolley track area that is adjacent to his home.

Juveniles Cited for Retail Theft

Macy’s security reported Nov. 5 at 1:44 p.m. that they had two young females in custody for retail theft at the store. Patrolman Dennis McPartland responded and took the two juveniles, a 14- and 15-year-old, both from Norwood, into custody and transported them to the Springfield Police Station. They were both issued citations for Retail Theft for taking a total of $113.50 worth of merchandise. They were both later released to relatives. The incident is under investigation by Detective Bridget McCarthy.

Unlocked Car Rummaged Through

A resident from the 800 block of Sheffield Drive reported Nov. 5 that sometime between 5 p.m. and 7:32 p.m. someone entered her unlocked vehicle and rummaged through the interior while the vehicle was parked in the driveway of the home. Nothing was reported missing.

Man Gets Retail Theft Charge

Best Buy’s security reported Nov. 5 at 7:45 p.m. that they had a male in custody for retail theft at the store. Patrolman Michael Kingsbury responded and took Daniel Sweeney, 29, of the 700 block of Central Avenue in Primos, into custody and transported him to the Springfield Police Station. He was issued a citation for Retail Theft for allegedly taking $49.99 worth of merchandise from the  store. Detective Bridget McCarthy is handling the investigation.
