Police Blotter: Handgun Stolen from Home; Burglar Injured During Break In

Video Camera and GPS Stolen

A resident from the 800 block Westdale Place reported March 12 at noon that sometime during the night someone entered his two unlocked vehicles and stole a Panasonic video camera and a Teletrek GPS Unit while the vehicles were parked in the driveway of the home.

High School Laptop Stolen

A Morton youth reported March 12 at 12:27 p.m. that sometime over the last two weeks someone stole his school-issued Dell laptop computer from the gym area at .

Home Burglarized

A resident from the 400 Blk. of Foster Drive reported March 12 that sometime between 9 a.m. and 2:50 p.m. someone forcibly entered her home via the rear door. Once inside the actor(s) ransacked various bedrooms. A 32’ Sony television and a Dell laptop computer were stolen from the master bedroom. Cash was taken from the children’s bedrooms and as well as a Wii game station. A 52’ Sony television with surround sound speakers and an Xbox game system were taken from the lower den area. The incident is under investigation by Detective Bridget McCarthy.

Handgun Stolen from Home

On March 12 at 4:20 p.m. a resident from the 400 block of N. State Road reported that sometime over the last month someone stole his Taurus .38 caliber handgun from the dresser drawer in his bedroom. The incident is under investigation by Detective Daniel McNeely.

Attempted Home Invasion

On March 12 a resident of Meetinghouse Lane reported that sometime between 7:30 a.m. and the 5:50 p.m. someone attempted to forcibly enter the home by prying the rear door. Damage was found to the wooden frame surrounding the door.

Mailbox Vandalized

A resident from the 600 block of Dutton Circle reported March 12 that sometime between 9:25 p.m. and the 9:37 p.m. someone knocked over the stand up mailbox next to the front porch of the home.

Garage Windows Smashed

A resident from the 500 block of Yale Avenue reported March 13 at 2:23 p.m. that sometime over the last few days someone broke out numerous windows on his detached garage located in the rear of the home.

Macy’s Reports Retail Theft

security reported March 13 at 5:15 p.m. that they had a female in custody for alleged retail theft. Patrolman Daniel Boyd responded and took Sarah Copeland, 64, of the 5400 block of Walnut Street in Philadelphia into custody and transported her to the . She was charged with retail theft for allegedly taking $302 worth of merchandise from the store and receiving stolen property. The incident is under investigation by Detective Robert Nutley.

Perfume Stolen from Display

The in the Springfield Mall reported March 14 at that sometime over the last few days someone stole numerous bottles of perfume from a display in the front of the store. The items are valued more than $900.

Burglar Injured During Break In

A resident of S. Bishop Avenue reported that sometime between 8 a.m. and 2:18 p.m. on March 15 someone forcibly entered her home through a rear window. Patrolman Michael Kingsbury responded and the investigation showed that the actor(s) apparently suffered an injury during the entry, as there was blood in various areas of the home, including the point of entry. Once inside the actor(s) ransacked bedrooms and various other rooms in the home. It is unknown what was stolen at the time of the report. The incident is under investigation by Detective Bridget McCarthy.

Copper Taken from Home Basement

A resident of Gibbons Road reported March 15 that sometime over the last few weeks someone forcibly entered her home and stole numerous pieces of copper from the basement. A basement window was smashed to make entry. The home had been vacant for a period of time. The incident is under investigation by Detective Bridget McCarthy.

iPhone Stolen from Store

The in the Springfield Mall reported March 14 that sometime between 7:30p.m. and 8:52 p.m. someone stole an iPhone 4 from the display in the front of the store. The phone is valued more than $675.
