Retail Thieves Flee

On July 1 at 8:16 p.m., security reported that sometime between 8 p.m. and the time of the report a black male and two black females fled the store with shopping bags full of stolen merchandise. They entered a gold-colored vehicle and fled onto Baltimore Pike towards the Blue Route (I-476.) The area was checked but the actors and vehicle were gone. The merchandise is valued over $2,000.

Car Accident, DUI

Springfield Police responded to a traffic accident July 1 at 10:51 p.m. on Baltimore Pike at South Norwinden Drive. Ptlm. Kai DiRemigio arrived to find a two-vehicle accident with no injuries. Further investigation showed that one of the operators, Elizabeth Myers, 59, of the 300 Block of North Bishop Avenue in Clifton Heights, was intoxicated. She was taken to , had blood drawn and was then transported to the Springfield Police Station. She was charged with Driving Under The Influence Of Alcohol and related Motor Vehicle Violations. She was later released to a relative. The incident is under investigation by Detective Bridget McCarthy.

Robbers Enter Home Rear Window

On July 2, a resident from the 600 block of Barclay Circle reported that, sometime between 9 p.m. and the time of the report at 10:56 p.m., someone forcibly entered the home through a rear window. The investigation showed that the actor(s) placed a chair under the window, removed a screen and entered the home. Several of the rooms had been ransacked. An unknown quantity of cash and jewelry are missing. The incident is under investigation by Detective James Devaney.

Burglars Take Laptop from Home

On July 4 at 12:39 p.m., a resident from the 300 block of Madison Road reported that, sometime between 3:30 p.m. on July 1 and the time of the report, someone forcibly entered his home through a window on the side of the home. Once inside, the actor(s) stole a laptop computer from a bedroom in the home. The incident is under investigation by Detective Bridget McCarthy.
