Police Blotter July 5-10: Car Stolen from Driveway, DUI, Retail Theft

Thieves Pocket Makeup

The in the 300 block Baltimore Pike reported that, sometime between 9:15 p.m. and the time of the report July 5 at 9:24 p.m., two black females were observed placing a large quantity of cosmetics into their handbags and fleeing the store. The actors then entered a vehicle that fled onto S. Norwinden Drive. The merchandise is valued over $100.

Car Broken Into in Mall Lot, Items Taken

A Yeadon resident reported July 6 at 6:57p.m. that sometime July 5 between 7:15 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. someone forcibly entered her vehicle and stole a large amount of cash, a Blackberry cellular phone, a Garmin GPS unit and a large quantity of CD’s while the vehicle was parked in the lot at the .

Car Stolen from Driveway

A resident from the 500 block of West Woodland Avenue reported to police July 7 at 4:14 a.m. that sometime over the last few minutes someone stole his grey colored 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee from the driveway of his home. The vehicle had been left unlocked with the keys in the center console. The victim’s wallet with credit cards, a cellular phone, and a Tom-Tom GPS Unit were in the vehicle at the time of the theft. The incident is under investigation by Detective Daniel McNeely.

Retail Theft at Mall Target

security in the Springfield Mall reported July 8 at 1:58 p.m. that they had a female in custody for Retail Theft at the store. Patrolman Scott Francis responded and took Monica Moser, 30, of the 4200 block of Vista Street in Philadelphia into custody and transported her to the Springfield Police Station. She was charged with Retail Theft for taking $253.47 worth of merchandise from the store. Detective James Devaney is handling the investigation.

Reckless Driving, DUI

While on patrol in the 1200 block of Baltimore Pike July 10 at 3:19 a.m., Patrolman Patrick McKenna observed a vehicle driving in a reckless manner and with the headlights off. The vehicle was stopped and the operator, Benjamin Okulski, 28, of the 1400 block of Rodney Street in Wilmington, was found to be intoxicated. He refused to have blood drawn and was then transported to the . He was charged with Driving Under The Influence Of Alcohol and related Motor Vehicle Violations. The incident is under investigation by Detective Daniel McNeely.
