Car Dealer’s Window Smashed

The in the 800 block of Baltimore Pike reported April 23 at 11:42 a.m. that sometime over the weekend someone threw a cinder-block through the windows on a vehicle parked in the lot of the dealership.

Items Stolen from Yard

A resident from the 400 block of Pinecrest Road reported April 23 at 5:34 p.m. that sometime during the last week someone stole a large copper pot, a lawn edger, a washing machine and an aluminum beer box from the rear yard of his home.

Items Lifted from Locker

A Springfield resident reported April 23 that sometime between 6:45 p.m. and 8:13 p.m. someone entered his locker and stole his wallet while he was at the in the 800 block of Baltimore Pk. The wallet contained various forms of identification, cash and personal cards. The victim put his lock on the wrong locker in the locker room.

Wallet Gone from Vehicle

A resident from the 200 block of N. Highland Road reported April 23 at 8:50 p.m. that sometime during the night someone entered her unlocked vehicle and stole her wallet while the vehicle was parked in the driveway of the home. The wallet contained various forms of identification and a debit card.

Patio Chair Missing

A resident from the 900 block of Springhaven Road reported April 24 at 11:20 a.m. that sometime during the night someone stole a patio chair from the rear patio of her home. The patio backs up to Pennsdale Park.

Display iPhone Taken

The in reported that sometime around 3:31 p.m. on April 24 two young males stole an Apple iPhone from a display in the front of the store. The phone is valued more than $750. The area was checked but the thieves were gone.

Woman Charged with Retail Theft

security in the 800 block of Baltimore Pike reported April 26 at 3:46 p.m. that they had a female in custody for retail theft at the store. Patrolman Dante Annacone responded and took Molly Hoffman, 26, of the 500 block of Stanbridge Road in Morton into custody and transported her to the Springfield Police Station. She was charged with retail theft for allegedly taking $345.46 worth of merchandise from the store and receiving stolen property. Detective Daniel McNeely is handling the investigation.

Left Behind Purse Stolen

A Springfield resident reported April 26 at 8:22 p.m. that while she was shopping at the in the Springfield Mall she inadvertently left her purse on a display shelf while she went to purchase a soda. A short time later the victim realized that she had left her purse on the shelf and when she went to retrieve it, it was gone. The purse contained a small amount of cash, gift and credit cards, and various forms of identification. The victim was able to cancel the cards before they were used.

Bike Stolen from Driveway

A resident from the 500 block of Hawarden Road reported April 26 at 9 p.m. that sometime during the night someone stole his black colored, 20’ boy’s Mirrico BMX bike from the driveway of the home. The bike is valued more than $200.

Money Stolen from Purse

A Lansdowne resident reported April 27 that sometime between 3:30 p.m. and 4:12 p.m. someone stole a debit card and cash from her purse while she was eating at in the 1000 block of Baltimore Pike. The actor(s) attempted to use the debit card at a local store but it was denied. The cash stolen was more than $150.

Thief Flees with Cartons of Smokes

The in the 700 block of S. Chester Road reported April 28 at 7:11 a.m. that a black female fled the store without paying for three cartons of cigarettes. She distracted the cashier then fled the store. The area was checked but she was gone. She entered a gold colored Chevrolet SUV and fled onto S. Chester Rd. The items are valued more than $180.

Purse Stolen at Church Plant Sale

A Springfield resident reported April 28 that sometime between 10 a.m. and noon someone stole her purse from under a display table while she was working at a plant sale at the in the 200 block of W. Springfield Road. The purse contained various forms of identification, cash, a checkbook and credit cards. The victim was able to cancel the credit cards before they could be used.

Man Charged with Retail Theft

security reported April 28 at 4:53 p.m. that they had a male in custody for retail theft at the store. Patrolman Patrick McKenna responded and took Aaron Williams, 20, of the 200 block of Walnut Street in Morton, into custody and transported him to the police station. He was issued a citation for retail theft for allegedly taking $25.96 worth of merchandise from the store. Detective Robert Nutley is handling the investigation.

Man Charged with DUI

While on patrol in the area of State and Springfield roads April 28 at 9:13 p.m. Patrolman Daniel Boyd observed a van driving in a reckless manner. The vehicle was stopped and the operator, Jong Chun, 50, of Fox Lair Village in Media was alleged to be intoxicated. He was taken to , had blood drawn, and was then transported to the police station. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and related motor vehicle violations. He was later released to a relative. The incident is under investigation by Detective Robert Nutley.
