Police Blotter: School Windows Smashed, Multiple Thefts from Unlocked Vehicles

St. Kevin's School reported Nov. 10 at 11:15 a.m. that someone broke two large windows overnight.

Loose Change Stolen from Unlocked Vehicle

A resident from the 500 block of Sheffield Drive reported Nov. 7 at 2:45 p.m. that sometime during the night someone entered his unlocked vehicle and stole an unknown quantity of loose change while the vehicle was parked in the driveway of the home.

Retail Theft

security reported Nov. 7 at 6:48 p.m. that they had a female in custody for retail theft at the store. Sgt. Michael Vaughan responded and took Camauri Williams, 21, of the 1100 block of Thomas Street in Chester, into custody and transported her to the Springfield Police Station. She was charged with Retail Theft for allegedly taking $217.47 worth of merchandise from the store. Detective Robert Nutley is handling the investigation.

Vehicle Vandalized

A resident from the 400 block of Burns Drive reported Nov. 8 at 9:16 a.m. that sometime during the night someone poured soda over his vehicle and also keyed the sides of the vehicle while it was parked on the street in front of the home.

Unlocked Vehicles Entered

A resident from the 400 block of E. Woodland Avenue reported Nov. 9 at 9:45 a.m. that sometime during the might someone entered his two unlocked vehicles and stole an unknown quantity of loose change while the vehicles were parked in the driveway of the home.

Wallet Stolen from Purse

A Drexel Hill resident reported Nov. 9 that sometime between 11 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. someone stole the wallet from her handbag while she was shopping at the . She did not realize that the theft had taken place until she exited the mall complex. The wallet contained various forms of identification, a large amount of cash and credit cards. The cards had not been used prior to the victim canceling them.

School Windows Smashed

in the 200 block of W. Sproul Road reported Nov. 10 at 11:15 a.m. that sometime during the night someone broke two large windows on the school building. No entry had been gained.

Retail Theft

security reported Nov. 10 at 12:19 p.m. that they had a female in custody for retail theft at the store. Patrolman Dante Annacone responded and took Monee Drayton, 22, of the 500 block of N. 54th St. in Philadelphia, into custody and transported her to the Springfield Police Station. She was charged with Retail Theft for allegedly taking $551 worth of merchandise. Detective Bridget McCarthy is handling the investigation.

Multiple Charges Including Endangering the Welfare of Children

The store in the 700 block of Baltimore Pike reported Nov. 11 at 6:20 p.m. that a female fled the store without paying for a quantity of merchandise. The suspect got into a vehicle and fled the lot onto Baltimore Pike leaving a second female stranded at the store. A short time later Patrolman Stephen Hurwitz observed the suspect on foot in the area of Baltimore Pike and Leamy Avenue. Rahkeia Watson, 27, of the Unit block of N. 57th St. in Philadelphia, was identified as being involved in the theft. She refused to provide any information as to the location of the vehicle. A short time later the vehicle was located in the parking lot of the Pet Smart store in the 600 block of Baltimore Pike. Investigation showed that the vehicle was occupied by five unattended children ranging in ages of 1 to 10 years of age. Watson was taken into custody and transported to the Springfield Police Station. She was charged with Retail Theft, Receiving Stolen Property, Endangering the Welfare of Children and False Identification to Law Enforcement. Detective Robert Nutley is handling the investigation. The second female was not charged.

GPS Stolen from Unlocked Vehicle

A resident from the 600 block of Evans Road reported Nov. 12 at 10:56 a.m. that sometime during the night someone entered her unlocked vehicle and stole the Garmin GPS Unit while the vehicle was parked in the driveway of the home.

Nail Salon Invaded, Cash Stolen

The in the 1100 block of Baltimore Pike reported Nov. 13 at 9:44 a.m. that sometime during the night someone forcibly entered the business by throwing a rock through the front door. Once inside the actor(s) stole a large amount of cash from the cash register. The incident is under investigation by Detective Robert Nutley.

Residents Report Vehicle Entries, Items Stolen

Three residents from the 500 block of Cheyney Road reported Nov. 13 that sometime during the night someone entered their unlocked vehicles while they were parked in the driveways of the homes. Two of the vehicles were rummaged through but nothing appeared to be missing and a quantity of CDs and a black leather coin purse with an unknown amount of change was stolen from the third vehicle.
