Retail Thefts from Target, Best Buy and the Ultra Store

Read recent reports of retail theft from Springfield stores.

Springfield Police report a number of recent incidents of retail theft in local stores.

  • Best Buy's Security reported October 21 around 4:30 p.m. that a man just left the store without paying for a a pair of headphones. The man, 25, of Philadelphia, was found by police sitting on a wall outside of the store, and was issued a citation for Retail Theft for taking $20 worth of merchandise from the store. 
  • Target Security in the Springfield Mall reported that they had a young woman in custody around 5:30 p.m. on October 23 for Retail Theft at the store. The 15 year-old from Chester will be Petitioned To Juvenile Court in Media and charged with Retail Theft for taking $219.99 worth of merchandise from the store and Receiving Stolen Property.
  • Target Security in the Springfield Mail reported around 6 p.m. on October 24 that a man just left the store without paying for merchandise and was walking into the mall. The man, 29, of Wallingford, was found by police inside of the mall and was issued a citation for Retail Theft for taking $86.88 worth of merchandise from the store. 
  • The Ultra Store in the Springfield Mall reported October 27 around 2:30 p.m. that a woman just left the store without paying for a bottle of perfume. A police officer found her leaving the Victoria's Secret store. Upon seeing the officer she re-entered Victoria's Secret, heading towards the back of the store, according to police. The woman, 31, of Lansdowne, was found to be in possession of stolen items from both stores. She was taken into custody and transported to the Springfield Police Station and was charged with Retail Theft for taking $161.83 worth of merchandise from the store, Receiving Stolen Property, and Disorderly Conduct.
